The Poderi Gianni Gagliardo family has its roots in the history of a traditional farming family that has always farmed vineyards in high vocation areas of Piedmont. In fact, since 1847, generation after generation moved the family from Santo Stefano Belbo, a favourite area for Moscato grapes, to Diano d’Alba, which has always been renowned for Dolcetto grapes, and finally to La Morra, in the Barolo area in 1961.

Today, there are 8 plots dedicated to Barolo – subdivided into 5 communes – and they fall within the Geographical Mentions Lazzarito (with official recognition of the toponym Vigna ‘Preve’), Castelletto, Monvigliero, Mosconi, Fossati, Bricco San Pietro, Santa Maria, and the original Serra dei Turchi in La Morra, where it all began.

The wines are produced following a holistic organic approach and ageing takes place in the cellar’s underground rooms. The artisanal approach, with great attention to the environment and sustainability, and a great attention to detail in every single phase, are fundamental pillars of the current production approach. To be able to operate in this way, the number of bottles is necessarily limited.
