Cantine Ratti was founded in 1965, the year in which Renato Ratti, undisputed leader of the wines of Alba, made his first Barolo Marcenasco, introducing an innovative style of winemaking. His Barolo map, with the mapping of the historical and most important vineyards, was taken up in 2010 by the Barolo regulations, testifying to his extraordinary vision and far-sightedness. In 1988, his son Pietro continued the business, renewing and implementing the Barolo vineyards in La Morra and other important areas between the Langhe and Asti areas. In 2004, the new, modern winery was built at Annunziata, using traditional materials with low environmental impact. The winemaking philosophy remains that of the founder, respecting the vineyard of origin and enhancing the elegance and complexity of Barolo di La Morra.
